Jamaican Adventists widen Day of Prayer scope

A growing economic crisis coupled with a spike in crime and violence is motivating Jamaican Seventh-day Adventists to turn an annual day of prayer into community outreach, including home visits and distribution of religious materials. Adrian Cotterell, president for the Adventist church in East Jamaica, prays during the 2008 ‘Day of Prayer’ held at the Andrews Memorial Adventist Church on Saturday, August 2.
