Joe and Elida Yanez

Joe and Elida Yanez are a blessing to the Metropolitan church family. Joe helps the Pastor give Bible studies during the week, as well as in his personal time. He is a teacher for the Adult English class during the Sabbath School lesson study. We enjoy Elida’s vegetarian cooking during our church potlucks. She also assists as a teacher¬† in the children’s division during Sabbath School. We are certainly glad that they are able and willing to serve God through their ministry in our church.…

Tell us a little about yourself

I am eagerly waiting and actively participating to see Christ’s prophecy fulfilled to the end. I’ve grown up expecting Christ’s return since I was little, thanks to my parents who have very strong faith.

Baptist is my background denomination; my grandfather was a pastor. In fact, he baptized me. Because of my upbringing, Jesus has always been real to me. I knew exactly why I decided to be baptized at the age of 11 or so.

Kassia Reid and Family

We’d like to welcome Don Pernites in our church family!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I like challenge and dynamics. That is why I ended up in Metropolitan SDA church. I am also a risk taker. Perhaps, that is the reason why I came to Houston where I have no relatives and friends in the beginning.

I am currently doing graduate studies in Chemistry/Chemical Biology at the University of Houston.

I like spending time with my wife and watching movies, aside from doing my research dealing with dangerous/hazardous chemicals.

Dinah de los Santos Piamonte

Can you tell us more about yourself?

My full name is Dinah de los Santos Piamonte. I was born in July 1968 at Union, Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province in the Philippines. I am married and have 2 daughters. I am a hard-working mom, friendly, and God-fearing.

Why did you choose Metropolitan?

Metropolitan church members are warm-hearted, approachable, and very hospitable. I am comfortable being here, and they make me feel at home. I’m so happy to be a part of this church family.
